Prince William’s uncle Charles Spencer has been dropping bombshells on the royal family with his forthcoming memoir on the late Princess Diana.

King Charles couldn’t hold back his views on the matter as Buckingham Palace issued an unprecedented statement on the book, but Prince William has so far held his tongue.

It is understood that the Prince of Wales is not particularly happy to see people benefit from making his family secrets in public as he is famously estranged with his only brother, Prince Harry, for doing just that.

According to a royal expert, William is “seething beneath the surface” but he has made his choice to not make matters any messier.

“He will be very upset by his mother’s death being raked up again, just a few years after the controversy over how Martin Bashir got his 1995 Panorama interview with Diana,” Phil Dampier told the Sun.

When Harry’s memoir was released, he had issued a statement at the time and “hoped that would have been the end”. But that did not happen.

“He won’t want to do it again now, nearly 30 years after his mother’s death.”

Phil continued, “That is not to say he won’t be feeling anything about this muck-raking book.

“He must be silently raging. I am sure it is very difficult and he must be heartbroken, but I think he is making the right decision.”
