Why is Spotify down? Everything to know about outage

Spotify users across the country are reporting issues with the music streaming platform on Tuesday morning, September 29.

The outage is confirmed by DownDetector, as the site received reports with a spike around 9:45 a.m. EDT, reaching more than 18,000 by 10:24 a.m.

Over 3,500 reports were received shortly after the outage began at 9:30 a.m. ET. Asbury Park Press noted more than 900 reports shortly after 9:00 a.m. ET.

Spotify said on its official status page: “We’re aware of some issues right now and are checking them out.”

The problems that users are reporting include slow services, inability to access their profile pages, problems with finding songs, and inability to stream music. There are people who claim that they have been logged out of their accounts on both the website and the app, and they cannot log in.

According to Downdetector, the majority of the reported problems are in the mobile app, which is where half of the problems come from. The other complaints relate to difficulties streaming music and accessing the server.

Many users have also taken to social media to report the outage and get updates.
