Former 'American Idol' contestant Caleb Flynn found guilty of wife's murder

Former American Idol contestant Caleb Flynn has been found guilty of his wife’s murder.

Flynn, 40, shot his wife, Ashley Flynn, in the head inside their Tipp City home in Ohio on February 16, 2026.

He staged the murder to look like a break-in.

Flynn breaks down in tears as the jury delivers its verdict after deliberating for less than three hours.

Flynn was found guilty of the remaining eight charges, which included aggravated murder and tampering with evidence.

At trial, prosecutors presented evidence ranging from police body-camera footage and data from Flynn’s iPhone and Apple Watch from the time of the murder.

Besides, the prosecution presented several witnesses, including former mistress Alleigha Botner, whom he met in church.

Botner revealed some chilling details, whom prosecutors believed she was instrumental in playing a role in Ashley’ killing.

The text messages between Flynn and Botner exchanged in the lead-up to Ashley's murder revealed some chilling details.

One of the text messages from Flynn stated, “I was up until 4 a.m. last night crying, literally thinking of a way to kill her dead and gine.”

Botner, in her testimony, said she now hates Flynn, as she believes that he might have murdered his wife.

The jury held a week-long trial that ended on Tuesday, September 29, after eight days of testimony.

He faces life in prison without parole and is scheduled to be sentenced on October 5, 2026.
