Gypsy Rose Blanchard is an American woman who gained public attention after pleading guilty to helping her then-boyfriend kill her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, in 2015.
She was a victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy, as her mother falsely claimed she suffered from serious illnesses and subjected her to unnecessary medical treatments.
Blanchard spent seven years in prison before being released in December 2023. She later rekindled her relationship with Ken Urker, and the couple welcomed a daughter in December 2024.
However, she is once again in the headlines after her partner, Urker, was reportedly found dead at his home in Raceland, Louisiana. He was 33.
The reports confirmed that his brother found him unresponsive on Thursday, October 1, which would have been his birthday. The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office confirmed deputies responded to a call around 6:15 p.m. and found a 34-year-old man dead at the residence.
To date, no official cause of death has been reported, as the death investigation is underway.
Blanchard has remained in the public eye through documentaries, interviews, and social media since her release. News of her partner’s death has prompted an outpouring of reaction online as fans await further details.
