Alison Hammond was forced to leave Friday’s live episode of “This Morning” after suddenly feeling unwell during the broadcast.
The 51-year-old presenter had been hosting alongside Dermot O’Leary when, just over half an hour into the ITV show, she appeared to clutch her chest and was hurried off set by her co-star. The incident occurred during a phone-in segment with resident vet Dr Scott Miller, who looked visibly concerned as Alison made her abrupt exit.
A loud retch was reportedly heard in the background before Alison was seen rushing off, breathing heavily. After an ad break, Dermot returned to the studio alone and addressed viewers, saying: “Welcome back to This Morning. Alison is feeling a little unwell, so she’s just had to duck out. Hopefully she’ll be back.
He later confirmed she wouldn’t be returning, adding: “Ali’s feeling a little unwell so I’ll be here for the rest of the show.” He confirmed that she was not replaced and continued hosting solo, interviewing guests including Tulisa and N-Dubz.
Alison, a former Big Brother star, is a beloved fixture on British television, presenting This Morning, The Great British Bake Off, and For The Love of Dogs.
