Duchess Sophie takes on Prince Edward's role as Duke continues Canada visit

A newly released video has captured a sweet moment involving the Duchess of Edinburgh as she took on an engagement on behalf of her husband, Prince Edward, while he continues his visit to Canada.

Sophie attended the International String Competition Final at Eton College, representing the Duke of Edinburgh, who serves as patron of the Windsor Festival, the organisation behind the competition.

The appearance offered a glimpse of the Duchess carrying out royal duties at home while Edward undertakes engagements overseas.

Meanwhile, the Duke continued his Canadian programme with a morning visit to the Lassonde Art Trail at 39 Commissioners Street. 

In his role as chairman of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, he later attended a luncheon and reception at Queen’s Park, alongside an education showcase.
