PESHAWAR: Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Sirajul Haq has relinquished the charge of senior minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Geo News reported Wednesday.
He has been serving as Finance Minister in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet despite being elected Chief of the Jamaat-e-Islami this year.
The main reason behind his decision to resign from ministry was Haq’s resolve to give more time to Jamaat’s activities, sources said.
The sources said Muzaffar Syed, a Jamaat's lawmaker from Dir, would assume the charge of senior minister in the KPK cabinet.
