ECP expresses concerns over law and order situation
ISLAMABAD: Expressing concerns over law and order situation, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday said that no concrete steps were taken other than issuing statements to maintain peace in the country, Geo News reported.

The ECP said that those institutions responsible of providing security must admit their failure rather than putting blame on the commission.

It urged the concern departments to secure the lives and properties of the people, before it's too late.

ECP claimed that a report of parliamentary committee for national security had also been ignored, adding that the concern authorities should understand that tolerance in the people is limited.

There is a need to chalk out joint security plan by all the relevant departments to improve the prevailing law and order situation, said ECP.

The ECP advised that a division of federal government, provincial government, intelligence departments and law enforcers under supervision of caretaker Prime Minister (PM) Mir Hazar Khan Khoso should be constituted in PM secretariat to take short and long-term steps for bringing peace in the country.

If anyone have suggestions pertaining to the restoration of peace should convey to the interim government, the ECP added.
