At the time of the blast, the Chehlum procession had not passed the area and no loss of life was reported.
Moments after the MA Jinnah blast, a second blast took place inside an Imambargah in the Orangi Town area of the city. A third blast took place when Rangers, police and rescue volunteers rushed to Orangi Town. Four people were killed as a result of this roadside bomb.
According to DIG West, a fourth blast of low intensity took place in the Qasba Colony area. The bomb had been planted next to a wall which was destroyed. Police officials said that an investigation has been launched into the four blasts in the city.
