Mubasher Lucman, Aqeel Dhedhi appear before court

KARACHI: TV anchor Mubhasher Lucman and businessman Aqeel Karim Dhedhi appeared before a local court on Saturday in connection with a petition of defamation filed against them by Jehangir Siddiqui Foundation and JS Bank.

Allowing the defenders time till Wednesday to submit savings certificate for Rs50,000 each, the court adjourned the hearing till October 4.

The court of Suhail Jabbar Malik was hearing a defamation petition filed by Jehangir Siddiqui Foundation and JS Bank against Mubasher Lucman and Aqeel Karim Dhedhi.

The petitioners had contended that Lucman and Dhedhi had attempted to besmirch their reputation by leveling unfounded allegations against them.

In the previous hearing, bailable warrants had been issued on the court’s order against Mubasher Lucman and Aqeel Karim Dhedhi.
