Third day for headcount data collection commences

KARACHI: The third day for headcount data collection for the sixth population census commenced Monday.

A person was arrested for residing illegally during the census activities in the city.

The Census Complaint Cell set up at the Chief Minister (CM) house by CM Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah received 139 complaints.

The complaints were forwarded to relevant authorities by the Chief Secretary.

Data collection exercise will be simultaneously conducted in 63 districts all across the country during the first phase. 16 districts in Punjab province, eight in Sindh, 14 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 15 in Balochistan, and five each in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan will be part of the first phase.

As many as 118,918 civilian staff and over 200,000 army personnel are part of the rigorous exercise to collect housing and headcount data from across Pakistan. Each enumerator is accompanied by a soldier who will assist the former in collecting information.
