ET rejects Aleem Khan's petition against NA-122 by-poll result

LAHORE: An election tribunal in Lahore has dismissed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Aleem Khan’s petition against rigging in by-elections in NA-122 (Lahore) and declared it non-maintainable.

Aleem Khan, PTI leader, who had the lost by-election in the constituency, had filed the petition and challenged the polls in the election tribunal in Lahore.

He had alleged that 30,000 votes were shifted from his constituency while Nadra had the record of only 7,000 votes. He said that the election was rigged and that the mandate of the public was stolen.

Aleem Khan had pleaded the tribunal to set aside the election and announce re-election in the constituency.

National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq was re-elected from the NA-122 seat in the by-elections in October last year after being earlier de-seated by an election tribunal in August when it nullified his election in the 2013 general elections.
