ISLAMABAD: Members at a high-level meeting presided by the prime minister on Tuesday decided that those who preach hate against Pakistan will have to pay for it.

Without naming Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain, the members said that ‘someone’ living in a foreign country would not be allowed to destroy peace in Karachi, sources confirmed.

It was decided that stability, national interest, and honour of Pakistan will be protected, sources said.

National Security Advisor Lt Gen (R) Nasir Janjua briefed the prime minister over implementation of the National Action Plan. He explained the progress on tasks given to NACTA and other government bodies.

The prime minister expressed his satisfaction over the Rangers’ operation in Karachi, sources said.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also called for a meeting tomorrow to review the country's security situation, sources said. The meeting would be attended by ministers from all provinces as well as prime minister of Azad Kashmir, chief minister Gilgit-Baltistan, and other officials.

Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif will also be present at the meeting, sources said.

Karachi was hit by riots on Monday when MQM workers ransacked an ARY news office and killed one person.

MQM party workers took to the streets yesterday after Altaf Hussain, in an address from London, incited them to storm media outlets and chant anti-Pakistan slogans during the hunger strike.

In violent protests that ensued, party workers ransacked the offices of ARY News and damaged a mobile satellite van.
