Afridi called off meeting to discuss farewell match: Najam Sethi

LAHORE: Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Executive Committee Najam Sethi on Wednesday said that cricketer Shahid Afridi was invited on September 26 to discuss matters regarding his farewell, but the meeting was called off due to Afridi’s busy schedule.

Afridi will get a fitting sendoff, said the PCB chairman. He said that the board was waiting to settle things with the national cricket team player.

“Whenever Afridi has got free time he should notify us,” Najam Sethi said.

Earlier, Shahid Afridi said he deserves a farewell match and has asked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to give him a match so he can bid goodbye to his fans.

“A farewell match is my right,” said the flambuoyant all-rounder, adding that he has done a lot for Pakistan and deserves a chance to bid farewell to his fans in a befitting manner.
