Waseem Akhtar meets PTI Karachi leadership

KARACHI: In view of seeking support for the administrative and financial power for his office, Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar met the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's Karachi chapter on Wednesday.

He was welcomed by PTI President Karachi Firdous Shamim Naqvi, MPA Khurram Sherzaman and Imran Ismail at the party's central office, Insaf House.

Speaking to the media, Mayor Karachi said that he desires to work along with all political stakeholders for the city's progress.

“I believe that right now there should not be any opposition in the city council,” he said. “I really want to do something for the city but with no authority given, how can I?”

PTI President Karachi Firdous Shamim Naqvi said that his party is willing to forget the past and work along with Waseem Akhtar for the development of the city.

“For the cause, I can confidently say that we are 100% with Waseem Akhtar,” Naqvi said.
