Brother kills sister over ‘honour’, throws body in lake in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: A man killed his sister in an apparent case of honour killing and threw the body in a lake in Faisalabad. Police started the search for the body, following the suspect’s confession statements.

According to police, the suspect identified as Sagheer Abbas suffocated his 16-year-old sister when his family members were not present at home.

The suspect in his statement to police said that he did the murder in the name of honour. He also said he put the body in a sack and threw it in a canal.

The relatives of the deceased girl are trying to recover the body from the lake on their own.

The relatives said that Rescue 1122 refused to help them in the search and police also did not take any action to recover the body.
