Women set ablaze by drunk cop in Sukkur succumb to wounds

SUKKUR: The two women who were set ablaze by a drunk policeman succumbed to their wounds at Civil Hospital Karachi on Tuesday.

Nausheen Bhutto and Arbeli Rajpar were brought to the hospital in Karachi after the former’s brother sprinkled petrol and set them ablaze in a fit of rage.

According to the police, the intoxicated policeman, Mehboob Bhutto, was angry at his sister for inviting at his nephew’s wedding guests whom he did not like. The incident took place on December 21.

Police said Mehboob was arrested and a case was filed against him, while further investigation was underway.
