LONDON: The Sharif family has lodged a formal complaint with London police about attempts by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activists to break into the house of Hasan Nawaz two days ago, police sources informed Geo News Tuesday.

The sources confirmed that video footage and photographic evidence of vandalism and property damage has been submitted, in which several individuals involved in acts of violence could be seen.

The complaint said that security threats have been posed to the family and Begum Kulsoom, as people try to enter the hospital room without proper authority and clearance, according to sources.

The police have been handed over footage of several protestors, who assemble daily outside the house and issue threats to children and residents.

The sources further said that the Sharif family has demanded action from the police in this regard.

Late on Monday, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and PTI supporters clashed with each other outside the Sharif family's Avenfield apartment in London.

A few PTI supporters gathered outside the apartment and chanted slogans against former premier Nawaz Sharif. In turn, PML-N supporters started chanting against Imran Khan and his party.

This led to a brawl between supporters of the two parties and resulted in the arrests of two PTI workers and senior leader of PML-N in UK Nasir Butt.

A day earlier, an angry mob attempted to attack the Avenfield property of the Sharif family.

The protesters attempted to break down the doors to the apartment of Nawaz's son, Hussain Nawaz, while one protester even threw a shopping cart at Aijaz Gul, a member of the PML-N's UK chapter.

The situation had prompted the Metropolitan Police to disperse the protesters.

The Britain chapter of the PTI had condemned the incident and said there was no truth in the accusation that its workers were behind the incident.
