Mahira Khan urges government to come down hard on child abusers

Pakistani superstar Mahira Khan has urged the government to come hard on people involved in sexual abuse against children, after a seven-year old girl was allegedly raped and murdered in Ziarat Kaka Sahib area of Nowshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Last month, Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari on Twitter, had announced that the government is preparing a holistic policy on child abuse under the PM's directive and within two weeks it would be ready with all stakeholders being taken on board.

Commenting on Mazari’s tweet, Mahira Khan, who is also the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees' (UNHCR) Goodwill Ambassador for Pakistan, said: “Dear @ShireenMazari1 It’s been two weeks. Is the policy ready? Another beautiful child raped and murdered. How many more would it take?”

The actress urged the policy makers to come down hard on these culprits, saying, “Please please come down hard on these monsters.”
