More rains predicted in Sindh from Sunday
LAHORE: Fresh spell of monsoon rains is expected to lash Sindh, Punjab, Kashmir and eastern Balochistan from Sunday onwards, Geo News reported Saturday.

According to the meteorological department, these areas may receive rains of moderate to heavy intensity from Sunday evening to Tuesday.

Scattered rains are also expected in upper and central Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir during the period while the flood-hit areas of Sindh are also likely to receive more rain.

Meanwhile, the weakening monsoon low over Sindh caused rain in different parts of the country, especially in Sindh, on Friday.

According to met department, 180% more rains were recorded in Sindh alone in the current season. Mithi received 1170mm of rain, Mirpurkhas 676mm, Nawabshah 570mm, Chor 571 and Badin 523mm.

Kashmir, Punjab, Sindh, northeastern Balochistan, Dera Ismail Khan and Hazara division are expected to receive rain with thunderstorm in the next 24 hours.

In the past 24 hours, Muzaffarabad received 40mm rain, Sahiwal 34mm, Parachinar 32mm, Murree 23mm, Kakul 18mm and Badin 11mm. Other areas that received rain include Kamrah, Shorkot, Risalpur, Hunza, Faisalabad, Bahawalnagar and Rawlakot.

According to experts, the weather conditions in the country will change due to changes in the weather conditions. The amount of water reserved during the current monsoon season is 37million acre ft while weather across the country will turn severe, experts said.
