TVXQ's Yunho cut off as host from Mnet’s Kingdom over police case

TVXQ's Yunho has officially been barred from emceeing at the Mnet Kingdom because of his police investigation.

In light of the changes, fellow singer and songwriter Changmin alone will be hosting the event for the fourth-generation superstars Stray Kids, Ateez and The Boyz.

The reason for the change came as a result of Yunho’s management company SM Entertainment. In their statement to the channel the company claimed, “Mnet has received a notice from SM Entertainment stating Yunho won't be participating in the 'Kingdom: Legendary War' until the police investigation results are out.”

“As a result, Mnet has decided to film the program with Changmin only. As far as the pre-recorded portion of Yunho is concerned, the edits will be made accordingly."

For those unaware, the police investigation began after it was revealed that Yunho violated the Act on the Prevention of Infectious Disease by allegedly frequenting an illegal entertainment bar in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul.

However fans have begun an uproar over the issue and took to their respective social media accounts claiming, “How unfair. When the news was already proven wrong. It won't be as fun if it's just one host, even Road To Kingdom had two hosts!”

Others were hopeful of a change to the hosting lineup and claimed, "I hope that the police will public the details soon because I really want Yunho to be the host for Kingdom, along with Changmin."
