Twitter went up in arms on Thursday after federal minister Shibli Faraz tweeted a picture of Prime Minister Imran Khan holding a meeting with his media team, four days after he tested positive for coronavirus.

"Prime minister with the media team today at Bani gala," tweeted Faraz with a picture in which the prime minister can be seen sitting in a room with six other persons.

Even though the premier apparently maintained a safe distance from the members of his media team, Twitterati were totally enraged, calling the act "irresponsible."

Haider, a Twitter user, told the information minister point-blank that his tweet was "callous and highly irresponsible".

Airsha Mano said it is obvious "those who lecture the nation" about coronavirus" don't follow [the] SOPs themselves.

Another person pointed out how the premier had not attended the Pakistan Day parade as he had tested positive for the virus but had called the media team to his residence.

Describing it as "bad optics", a fourth user named Ali Arsalan wondered what message the picture would send to the rest of the nation.

Another user pointed out how these optics were not good for the nation.

One user pointed out how the picture would "surmount propaganda" and invite criticism.

Elias was also among those who wondered why the prime minister, in this age of technology, couldn't hold a virtual meeting with his media team.
