Meghan Markle is in for another lawsuit, this time filed by half-sister Samantha Markle.

As per new reports obtained by Mirror.co.uk, the Duchess of Sussex could sit for a legal deposition by Samantha's lawyers over defamation claims. The lawsuit mainly refers to Meghan's tell-all Oprah Winfrey interview.

A source close to the case says Samantha, 57, says that she intends to “forensically challenge” everything about the interview.

The source said: “Nothing is off-limits if the Duchess is deposed" which also covers the accusations Meghan made about the royal family, suggesting that the half-sibling seemingly sides with the clan against her sister.

“Samantha’s lawsuit focuses heavily on claims made by the Duchess when she spoke to Oprah.

“They include details on how little Meghan says she knew her half-siblings, but also about the life she had when growing up.

“Samantha, who shares the same dad with Meghan, does not recognise much of what the Duchess said and wants to challenge it all by making her sister sit for a deposition.

“Everything will be forensically challenged. For sure, Samantha hopes Meghan will be tested on all aspects of the Oprah programme, including claims she made about the royals.”

Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior royals in a shocking 2020 statement. The couple left UK to live in California. They now have a mansion in Montecito where they reside with their two children; Archie and Lili.

Meanwhile, US magistrate Thomas Wilson has filed an order detailing “discovery motion requirements”.

The process “shall include quotation in full of each interrogatory, question on deposition, request for admission or request for production to which the motion is addressed," he said.
