Muller downs Soeda to reach Atlanta final
ATLANTA, Georgia: Luxembourg's Gilles Muller reached his first ATP final since 2005 on Saturday with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over eighth-seeded Go Soeda of Japan at the ATP Atlanta Open.

Muller, ranked 63rd in the world, fired 17 aces en route to the victory in 74 minuts, breaking Soeda once in each set.

In Sunday's final the 29-year-old left-hander will face either top-seeded John Isner or fourth-seeded Andy Roddick, who met in an all-American semi-final later Saturday.

Muller fell to Isner in the semi-finals here last year.

Muller is seeking his first ATP title. He has twice finished runner-up, in 2004 in Washington and in 2005 at Los Angeles. (AFP)
