Zooey Deschanel's fiancé details ‘blubbering' proposal in Scotland

Zooey Deschanel’s betrothed Jonathan Scott got candid about his 2023 proposal that led to a ‘blubbering mess’

The pair that met at James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke in 2019 eventually got engaged in 2020 during a Scotland getaway, in Edinburgh and shared the joyful news via their Instagram accounts.

Now speaking With Page Six, the Television personality opened up how the proposal actually went down.

Kicking off as a family trip, the Candian contractor had planned the surprise in a castle, he shared, “We were in Edinburgh Castle, and we were the last people on the property and I had it set up”.

“We went up to this beautiful bluff overlooking the city, and this pipe band is playing. And then all of a sudden a guitar steps forward and started playing Neil Young, our song, ‘Harvest Moon,’ and she’s like, ‘Wait, what?’”.

However, the emotional surprise got the pair into a tearful situation as while the bride-to-be ‘cried’ and said yes, the groom-to-be became a ‘blubbering mess’.

“The wedding is going to be a disaster because I will not be able to get through”, he quipped.

The duo then went to Paris to celebrate the occasion and has already begun preparing for their upcoming wedding.
