ISLAMABAD: Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Admiral (retd) Fasih Bokhari will be indicted for contempt of court on April 2.
A three member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry resumed hearing of the contempt of court case against Chairman NAB on Wednesday and ordered his indictment for writing a letter to President Asif Ali Zardari, in which Bukhari complained that the court was unnecessarily pressurising the NAB officials in investigations related to high-profile matters, especially the rental power projects case.
During proceedings, Bokhari requested that the bench hearing the case should be changed. However, the Supreme Court rejected his request.
Chief Justice Chaudhry remarked that no extraordinary measure had been taken to issue a notice to Chairman NAB, adding that the former and present prime ministers had also appeared before the apex court.
