Oscar-winning actress Jamie Lee Curtis has opened up about the "horrific" fires ravaging Los Angeles.
On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday, January 8, Curtis became emotional while she talked about the fire in her neighbourhood.
Expressing deep emotional distress over the crisis in her hometown, she said, “I’m literally just about to cry.”
“As you know where I live is on fire right now. Literally the entire city of the Pacific Palisades is burning,” the 66-year-old actress added, trying to stay calm.
The actress of Freaky Friday revealed, “I flew here last night. I was on the plane, started getting texts and it’s [bleep] gnarly, you guys.”
“It’s just a catastrophe in Southern California. Obviously there have been horrific fires in many places [but] this is literally where I live,” Curtis mentioned.
The Sticky star shared that her friends’ homes, many schools, and local markets have been destroyed in the fire.
“It’s a really awful situation,” she quipped, saying that she was set to go home to L.A. to be with her beloved family members and “try to help my friends.”
“Do anything you can, anything in your community to help people. Whether you need it or not now, you will need it. Give blood, donate, whatever you can do,” Jamie Lee Curtis concluded by requesting people to help their community.
It is significant to mention that several luminaries, including Leighton Meester, Spencer Pratt, Paris Hilton, Adam Brody, Heidi Montag, and Anna Faris, have lost their homes in the fires.
