ISLAMABAD: Inspector General Police (IGP) Islamabad, Bani Amin Khan has decided to challenge the decision of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) directing authorities to take action against him for his role in the escape of former president, General (retd) Pervez Musharraf from the premises of the court.
Khan will challenge the decision in the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The IHC had directed the Interior Secretary to take action against the IGP and present a report. The IHC had held the IGP responsible for the failure of the police to arrest the former president after his bail extension was rejected.
The hearing of the Musharraf escape case continues at the Islamabad High Court.
