Jude Law, a veteran English actor, sat down for an interview with Deadline where he revealed that he is set to take on a major role.
The actor will be a part of the upcoming flick The Wizard of the Kremlin in which he will play Vladimir Putin, the Russian President.
The film, which will be directed by Olivier Assayas, will show him "at the beginning of his governing career” in a supporting role.
Discussing his preparation process, Law explained, "I haven’t really started work on it yet. I mean, I have, but at the moment it looks like an Everest to climb, so I’m in the foothills looking up thinking, ’Oh Christ, what have I said?’”
He continued, "That’s often how I feel whilst I say yes. I was going, ’Oh God, how am I going to do this?’ But anyway, that’s for me to sort out.”
Also starring in the movie will be Zach Galifianakis, Paul Dano as well as Alicia Vikander.
The primary character, Vadim Baranov, will be played by Dano. Baranov will reportedly be a producer who "blurs truth with lies, the news with propaganda, directing the entire society like one great reality show.”
It will be based on the best selling novel of the same name by author Giuliano da Empoli. The screenplay was written by Emmanuel Carrère and Assayas.
