Blake Lively recently responded to her It Ends With Us costar, Justin Baldoni, who recently filed a counter lawsuit against the actress and her husband, Ryan Reynolds.

For the unversed, the It Ends With Us costars are fighting a legal battle with Lively initially filing a lawsuit against Baldoni in December 2024, alleging him of sexual harassment and trying to destroy her reputation publicly.

Now weeks later, on Thursday, January 16, Baldoni hit back at the actress and her husband, alleging the couple hijacked his film and sought to destroy his livelihood and career.

In response to Baldoni's recently filed new lawsuit, Lively's legal team was quick enough to issue a statement to DailyMail.com in which the Gossip Girl alum's accused the Jane the Virgin actor of using the “abuser playbook”.

The statement added, “This is an age-old story: A woman speaks up with concrete evidence of sexual harassment and retaliation and the abuser attempts to turn the tables on the victim. This is what experts call DARVO. Deny. Attack. Reverse Victim Offender.”

The 37-year-old actress’ legal team also claimed that the evidence they will issue would show that the cast and others had their own negative experiences with Baldoni and Wayfarer.

Moreover, apart from the 40-year-old actor, the statement alleged that his production company Wayfarer Studios “opted to use the resources of its billionaire co-founder to issue media statements”.

Added to this, the company also “threatened” legal actions in order to bury the public’s “ability to understand that what they are doing is retaliation against sexual harassment allegations”.

The statement concluded, stating “In short, while the victim focuses on the abuse, the abuser focuses on the victim.”

“The strategy of attacking the woman is desperate, it does not refute the evidence in Ms. Lively’s complaint, and it will fail,” it added.
