In their new film Americana, singer Halsey and actress Sydney Sweeney dive into a gripping neo-Western set in a small South Dakota town.

The story centers on a high-stakes battle over a rare Lakota “ghost shirt,” a treasured Native American artifact that falls into the black market.

According to Daily Mail, the movie’s ensemble cast also includes Paul Walter Hauser, Simon Rex, Eric Dane, and Zahn McClarnon.

The plot unfolds as a small-town woman and her son become embroiled in the chaos triggered by the stolen relic, crossing paths with a quirky diner waitress, a military veteran, and a corrupt antiquities dealer.

Moreover, crime escalates when an indigenous group leader and his team fight to reclaim the artifact and restore it to its rightful place, as per the outlet.

Americana marks Halsey’s second major acting role following her live-action debut in 2024’s MaXXXine.

For Sydney Sweeney, known for her role in Euphoria, the film adds to a growing slate of projects, including Anyone But You, Madame Web, and Immaculate

Additionally, Sweeney is also set to star in Ron Howard’s upcoming film Eden, releasing the same weekend as Americana.

Written and directed by Tony Tost in his feature directorial debut, Americana is set to premiere in theaters on August 22, as per the outlet.

Furthermore, the film promises a thrilling blend of crime, cultural heritage, and dark humor in a modern Western setting.
