Ellen DeGeneres mourns big loss on social media

Ellen DeGeneres is "heartbroken" over the death of her dog, Augie.

Taking to her Instagram handle on Saturday, the 67-year-old retired comedian announced the death of her dog, which she rescued 12 years ago.

“We had to say goodbye to Augie yesterday. We rescued him 12 years ago, and he was so grateful,” Elle penned while sharing a series of photos of Augie.

“He gave us so much love. He will be missed. There will never be another like him,” she added.

In one of the shared images, Ellen’s partner, Portia de Rossi, can be seen cuddling up with the tiny dog.

A few days later, the comedian returned to Instagram and posted a clip of herself, Portia, and Augie filmed a month before his death.

“We filmed this last month and planned to post it today,” she wrote in the caption.

“I don’t care what Portia says, please don’t call me the Deal Queen. We love you, Augie,” added Ellen.
