Severance star Tramell Tillman has finally revealed what it was like working with Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning.

For the unversed, the 39-year-old American actor is playing the role of Captain Bledsoe and operates a secretive U.S. submarine. He also plays a crucial role in Ethan Hunt’s (played by Cruise) hunt to stop the film’s artificial intelligence villain, the Entity.

In a talk with PEOPLE magazine at the new Mission: Impossible movie's New York City premiere on Sunday, May 18, Tillman opened up about working with the Mission Impossible star by saying, "So primarily I worked with Tom Cruise, and I was just hoping that I didn't mess it up.”

Speaking highly of Cruise, he added, "Tom is such a wonderful scene partner and he creates a really safe environment for me to do what I need to do and other actors as well. So it was a delight to work with him."

Moreover, while conversing with Entertainment Weekly, Tillman shared that he was included in Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning because of the director Christopher McQuarrie, who "is a big fan of Severance."

The Sweethearts actor said that when McQuarrie asked him to come over for a Zoom meeting for discussion, “He went on to talk about Mission: Impossible, and he said that there was a role in it for me. And I asked him, I said, 'Well, what do we do from here? What's the deal?' He said, 'You think about it, and if you want to take the role, it's yours.'"

Before concluding, it is pertinent to mention that Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning has been released on May 23, 2025.
