Sarah Jessica Parker is opening up about her mindful approach to parenting.

The Sex and the City star, 60, made an appearance on The E! News Sitdown with Bruce Bozzi for the May 28 episode during which she touched upon parenting essentials.

The actress began with the advice she gives to her eldest son, James Wilkie, 22, who recently began his own acting career.

“I really want my children to be educated in the ways that are fulfilling to them. I don’t think that there is one way to be an educated person or to be equipped to be an adult and try to fashion a life for yourself after what would be considered ‘finishing college’—let’s say 22 years old,” Parker explained.

She continued, “You want for them to be pursuing things that are exciting and challenging and hard and gratifying and to be able to ultimately take care of themselves, support themselves — emotionally, financially, and that they can be in the world and be a reliable person to themselves and to other people. And so we talk about work like that.”

The Hocus Pocus alum also shares twin daughters Tabitha Hodge and Marion Loretta Elwell, 15, with Broderick.

Sex and the City sequel And Just Like That... season 3 debuts on Max on May 29.
