Princess Diana’s brother Charles Spencer has released statements with video and photo amid reports Prince Harry reached out to him and asked his uncle if he could change his name to Spencer.

According to a report by the Daily Mail, Prince Harry actively explored ways to assume his mother Princess Diana’s surname – a move that would have involved ditching Mountbatten-Windsor, used by his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The report further says, “It is understood he discussed the issue with Earl Spencer – whose family seat is Althorp in Northamptonshire – during a rare visit to Britain, but was told that the legal hurdles were insurmountable.”

The outlet, quoted Prince Harry’s friend as saying, “They had a very amicable conversation and Spencer advised him against taking such a step.”

Amid these claims, Charles Spencer took to X, formerly Twitter handle and shared a video of Roe deer fight.

He captioned the video, “Balletic but fierce tussle between 2 roe bucks, just now, near the backyard of Althorp House.

“The left hand one entered the right one’s territory, & departed with a limp. A painful prelude to the proper summer rutting season. They were so busy they ignored me filming.”

In another social media post, Spencer shared a photo with caption “The new Althorp Alpaca herd started today, with the arrival of this gorgeous quartet; two mothers with their crias (babes).”
