Simon Cowell candidly shared his deepest fears as a father and the key values he hopes to pass down to his son during an emotional appearance on This Morning on Thursday.

While speaking with Jeff Brazier on the ITV program, the 65-year-old music mogul opened up about raising his 11-year-old son, Eric, with partner Lauren Silverman, and revealed his growing anxiety over technology’s influence on children, particularly mobile phone use.

In regards to this, Simon admitted, “I’m very worried about how much kids can see at a certain age. I would be petrified of him having access to anything. That really worries me.”

According to Daily Mail, Cowell also reflected on the one enduring lesson from his own father that he is determined to instill in Eric: the importance of respect and simplicity.

He said, “My mum used to say, ‘manners make the man,’ and my dad was very good about respecting others. I’m trying to do the same—be happy, find your path, and be respectful.”

Despite his global fame and success, Cowell said, “Out of everything I’ve ever done in my life, this is the best thing to ever happen to me.”

Moreover, Cowell’s concerns about technology aren’t new—he previously shared that Eric doesn’t have a phone and that he himself hasn’t owned one in nearly a decade.

He continues to supervise Eric’s access to digital devices closely, emphasizing a protective approach to parenting in the digital age.

It is worth mentioning that Simon and Lauren welcomed Eric in 2014 and got engaged in 2021, though they have yet to marry.
