Earlier this month, the Television Academy in North Hollywood buzzed with excitement during a For Your Consideration (FYC) event for Landman, the Paramount+ drama that has rapidly become a major hit for the streamer.
Created by Yellowstone mastermind Taylor Sheridan, Landman premiered in November 2024 and quickly claimed the title of Paramount+’s biggest series launch in two years.
According to People, the gritty drama, based on the acclaimed Boomtown podcast, explores the volatile and high-stakes world of the Texas oil industry.
With powerhouse performances from stars Billy Bob Thornton and Demi Moore, the show boasts an impressive ensemble cast including Jon Hamm, Andy Garcia, Jacob Lofland, and Ali Larter.
The series’ breakout success has already earned it a second-season renewal, with production currently underway, as per the outlet.
At the recent event, Thornton opened up about portraying oilman Tommy Norris and reflected on his unconventional Hollywood journey.
He also shared a humorous moment with co-star Demi Moore, revealing she didn’t initially recall working with him on Indecent Proposal nearly 34 years ago.
Thornton quipped, “She didn’t remember me,” while referencing his brief role in the 1993 Adrian Lyne drama.
Additionally, Moore responded with amusement, later noting that it was through her ex-husband Bruce Willis, whom Thornton worked with on three films, that she truly got to know him over the years.
Moore and Willis, who were married from 1987 to 2000, share three daughters.
As Landman continues its rise, Moore is also enjoying a career renaissance, as per the publication's claims.
Her performance in The Substance (2024) earned her her first Oscar nomination, as well as Critics’ Choice, Golden Globe, and SAG Award wins.
