Meghan Markle’s raspberry jam is branded a failure by an expert.
The Duchess of Sussex, who has launched jams and spreads under her lifestyle label ‘As Ever,’ is described a ‘disappointment’ by Donna Collins.
Collins, owner of Jelly Queens, told the Standard: "It's a real disappointment that Meghan is selling a fruit spread, which is what you make when your jam fails. In the jam industry, a spread is what we call something that didn't work."
Earlier, Collins explained: "A high-end client might want to give the impression their jams are being made by hand in a country kitchen, while they’re actually made in an industrial warehouse on a sterile production line."
Ms Collins added: "Her raspberry spread isn’t touched by a human hand in its entire production. It’s made at scale in a huge vat and cooked quickly, pumped down a pipe and squeezed into jars."
