Paramount's bid outmanoeuvres Netflix’s recent $82 billion equity deal for the media giant’s assets, indicating that the competition for Warner Bros—and its valuable HBO and DC Comics properties—will be prolonged.

Despite Netflix’s lead with approximately 810 million monthly active users, Paramount's offer signifies a huge uptick, providing shareholders with $18 billion more in cash.
