Apple has released the second major update, iOS 26.2, to offer a fresh assortment of features, visual tweaks and important security fixes.
The latest version of iOS 26 was rolled out yesterday (December 12) and is now available for iPhone 11 and newer models.
The most notable feature of iOS 26.2 is deeper customisation of the Liquid Glass design, which allows users to fine-tune the transparency and look of the Lock Screen clock for improved readability in different lighting conditions. This improvement comes in response to feedback from users who complained about earlier designs.
Other notable changes have been made to several practical apps. Part of these tweaks is Apple Music's support for offline lyrics, making it easier to enjoy songs without an internet connection.
Similarly, under the Reminders app, high-priority tasks can trigger alarm-style alerts with clearer Lock Screen visuals and Live Activity support.
Under the hood of AirDrop, it is now safer with the introduction of one-time verification codes when sharing files with people outside your contacts.
This reduces the risk of accidental sharing in public spaces. Meanwhile, Apple Podcasts now offers auto-generated chapters, interactive transcripts and clickable links mentioned in episodes.
Users can download the 3.88GB update via Settings > General > Software Update, as Apple continues to polish iOS 26 across its wider ecosystem.
Other refinements include table support in Freeform, a refreshed layout in Apple News, and new accessibility tools such as screen flash alerts for notifications.
The iPhone maker has also improved safety alerts and enhanced sleep tracking accuracy when paired with the latest Apple Watch software.
Apart from features, iOS 26.2 has also brought vital bug fixes and security patches to the table, which it recommends installing promptly.
