In what appears to be a major snub to the United States (U.S.) President Donald Trump, Erika Kirk has endorsed Vice President JD Vance for the 2028 presidential election.

Speaking at the America First annual conference on Thursday night, the widow of slain political commentator and co-founder of Turning Point USA, Charlie Kirk, has said, “We are going to get my husband’s friend JD Vance elected in 2028.”

She continued, “We are building the red wall. We are going to make sure that President Trump has Congress for all four years of his current term.”

This endorsement is expected to provide a major boost to Vance’s campaign in 2028 if he decides to run for presidency as it came from one of the most prominent figures among American conservatives, particularly among youth.

However, the endorsement also appears to be a major snub to President Trump, who on multiple occasions has indicated he may seek another term.

The Guardian reports that Trump has discussed the possibility of a third term with lawyer and constitutional expert Alan Dershowitz. The White House has said that the U.S. would be lucky if Trump stayed in office for another term.

The U.S. constitution does not allow a third term for presidents meaning a constitutional amendment would be required for Trump to proceed with his 2028 ambitions.
