Prince Harry ‘steals spotlight from royals with surprise appearance

King Charles was joined by the senior working members of the family on Saturday afternoon to mark the annual Trooping the Colour parade with pomp and fanfare.

Prince Harry, who was expected to be back in the UK next month, surprised everyone with his appearance around the same time as the important annual royal event.

The Duke of Sussex was issued an invite from NBA Commissioner Adam Silver for the Knicks vs. Spurs game on Saturday evening. Harry arrived at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, without Meghan Markle and the children, to watch.

The King’s younger son was dressed in a black polo and a SBFD (Santa Barbara Fire Department) baseball cap.

He was seen briefly speaking to Spike Lee before sitting next to Adam Silver. Harry was reportedly in town for the Warrior Games, hence he received the invite to the NBA final. Harry appeared serious as he watched the game.

Before attending the game, Harry had also sent a video message to Invictus Germany Sports Festival 2026 as its second day began the same time as King’s Birthday parade.

Harry told the crowd, “Thank you for your service… have a fantastic time in Dusseldorf.”

The San Antonio appearance was just hours after the royal family had watched the flypast from the Buckingham Palace balcony, capturing the historic moment, with the “slimmed-down” family.

Experts believe that the clash of royal and Sussex events are never coincidental as Harry and Meghan attempt to steal the spotlight from the royals.
