Before Meghan Markle was the Duchess of Sussex, she was widely known for her role in the hit legal drama Suits, which remains a popular watch even today.
Her co-stars, especially Patrick J. Adams who plays her on-screen love interest, have always recalled fond memories with Meghan and showered praises on her.
However, ever since her marriage with Prince Harry, her co-stars have had to face a crucial struggle when they appear in interviews, as things have changed drastically for them as well.
Patrick’s comments during an episode of About Last Night podcast recently resurfaced and have sparked mixed reactions from the public.
The actor had revealed that working with Meghan was “terrific” as she was not only “amazing” but was also “low drama”.
“She’s like a dream person to have on set, to be honest. She was very low drama,” he said.
Patrick also noted that he has to be very careful with what he says in public due to the media.
“Anything I say about Meghan is going to be a headline,” he explained. “The mental gymnastics I do as soon as I begin a conversation about Meghan is so funny.”
According to Meghan supporters, it was after marrying into the royal family that she has been subjected to hate.
“Her cast mates constantly sang her praise, fans who met her constantly sang her praise. [British] media attempting to rewrite her HIST & anyone believing she would morph into a monster for 18 mths in [British] & morph back to the person friends & co-workers knew is idiotic,” [sic] an X user wrote.
Another agreed, “Everyone who worked with Meghan before she joined her husbands family has nothing but lovely things to say about her - it’s only when she was amongst the ‘Palace aids’ and ‘sources close to’ that she became this caricature! It’s almost like the Palace lied… [sic]”.
Meanwhile, others expressed sympathy for Patrick, who still has to deal with these questions in interviews.
“Why do they keep asking the SAME questions about her? Interview your guests without asking about her,” one person on Instagram said.
“Not the mental gymnastics [crying emoji] bless him!”
While one appreciated his the actor’s efforts as a friend.
“I have always loved Patrick and he continues to not disappoint. He is a loyal friend.”
