Pack your bags–Barry’s Bay is not done with us just yet.
Prime Video officially renewed Every Year After for season 2 during Obsessed Fest in Los Angeles on June 27, giving fans exactly what they’d been hoping for after weeks of speculation.
The next chapter will adapt Carley Fortune’s bestselling sequel, One Golden Summer, shifting the spotlight to fan favourite Charlie Florek as his own love story finally takes center stage.
The novel follows photographer Alice, who returns to Barry’s Bay with her grandmother after years away. But a familiar yellow speedboat–and the charming Charlie behind the wheel–quickly turns a quiet summer into something far more complicated.
The upcoming season will welcome back Michael Bradway as Charlie, alongside Matt Cornett, Sadie Soverall, Abigail Cowen, Aurora Perrineau and Joseph Chiu. Showrunner Amy B. Harris is also returning.
“The response to Every Year After has been truly extraordinary, underscoring the universal appeal of Carley Fortune’s storytelling and the deep connection audiences have formed with the world of Barry’s Bay,” Amazon MGM Studios' Peter Friedlander said in a statement.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Carley, Amy B. Harris, our exceptional cast and creative team, and the passionate fans who have embraced this series around the globe. We’re excited to return to Barry’s Bay and bring audiences another deeply emotional and unforgettable chapter.”
One thing is clear: Barry’s Bay still has a few more love stories waiting to unfold–and fans are more than ready to dive back in.
