Prince William and Princess Kate have been meticulously planning the initiation of their son Prince George’s entrance in the royal duties.

The Palace will officially implement royal protocol for the young Prince as he turns 13 next month on July 22 and start his boarding school in September. Moreover, this is also the time when he would begin taking on royal duties actively.

However, the Prince and Princess of Wales had already given George a “gentle introduction” to the role, without overwhelming him, according to Queen Elizabeth’s former press secretary Ailsa Anderson.

“They have been very careful not to pressure any of them to appear on the public stage too often,” she told People Magazine. “It’s been a gentle introduction to royal life, which has let Prince George build his confidence.”

She added even for his school, William and Kate “carried out a lot of research to make the right decision”.

A source also revealed to the publication that George “always wanted to follow his father’s footsteps” hence he is willingly going to Eton College.

Kensington Palace confirmed the news this month that George will attend the prestigious all-boys boarding school near Windsor. There were other schools being considered including a co-ed school but the decision was eventually made.

Moreover, royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith insisted that George will receive “a rigorous education” from Eton that he will need for his role.
