Queen Camilla did not lose a chance to give a good laugh to attendees with a rare confession about King Charles’ creative side.
The royal figure spoke to participants at The Royal Scottish Academy of Art & Architecture in Edinburgh, where she raved about the monarch’s painting skills.
Speaking to the guests at the event, she said, “Can I just say before I leave how proud I am to be your patron. I think this will be the first of many visits because I know you have so many wonderful collections that I would absolutely love to come and have a look at.”
Camilla expressed her sadness about not being able to paint beautifully, unlike her husband, who possesses this talent. She also reminisced about her late father-in-law, who had similar skills.
According to Rebecca English, the Queen said, “I do try to paint, very badly. But sadly, I don’t have much time. But there’s nothing I enjoy more than looking around other people’s work.”
In response, President Gareth Fisher asked the Queen to send their warm wishes to the King. He said that they are all hopeful that the monarch will keep painting.
Camilla said, “He has to be encouraged,” which made her and the people around her laugh.
“We would love to have one of his Scottish landscapes,” the Queen was told.
She once again left people amused by saying, “Well, I shall mention it to him. I shall give him a nudge in the right direction.”
