Katie Price, who bought a new puppy along with her husband, Lee Andrews, just days after one of her cats passed away, faced criticism from Meg Mathews.

The 60-year-old animal rights activist who rose to fame after marrying Noel Gallagher in 1997, shared a video reporting that the couple had purchased a Pomsky while was visiting Lee in the UAE.

Alongside the video, Meg wrote: 'Why buy a puppy when you don't live in Dubai? This is utterly ridiculous, irresponsible… a husky mix in Dubai... 'Heat training takes time [and] commitment. Do they have a house and garden/yard? Just heartbreaking, sends the wrong message.'

Katie responded: 'Am I missing something Meg? Go back through your messages to me, how nice you have always been, asking me for help and now this? You don't know me personally so calm down. And Lee lives in Dubai, my husband.'

The 48-year-old former glamour model has previously faced criticism over the deaths of several of her pets including dogs, horse, and a chameleon many of which died in traffic accidents near her Sussex home.

Katie later shared a video on Facebook, showing her and Lee signing a contract to buy a male Pomsky puppy.

The paperwork showed the pair paid 9,800 dirhams for it, which is approximately £2,000. While signing the papers, the star could be heard saying: They have no children but this is our little boy.'
