King Charles, Queen Camilla's meaningful birthday gift for Meghan revealed

Meghan Markle may not have received an official public message from Buckingham Palace on her milestone birthday like Prince Harry did, but it does not indicate any setback in reconciliation.

King Charles and Queen Camilla had met the Sussexes last month at Highgrove House in a secret meeting, with no photo leaks or crumbs the discussion making it to the public. It was stressed by the King’s office that they will not provide any further details from the private family gathering except that it took place.

A former Palace aide has not shared how things must have changed between the Sussexes and the royals following the meeting, and if Meghan received something extra special on her 45th.

“I think we can safely assume there will be some sort of a gift from the king and queen this year,” Grant Harrold, who was King Charles’ butler for seven years, told Cheat Sheet.

“Relations are seemingly improving considerably, and Charles will want to celebrate his daughter-in-law with a special gesture.”

He explained that it’s not a far-fetched possibility that the gift exchange had already happened in the UK when Meghan visited with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Grant noted that Meghan is still Charles’s daughter-in-law and if there is a reconciliation plan in place, he would make a gesture for her.

“If they are really trying to fix things, the king will want to go that extra mile,” he continued. “It will be a more special gift. He’s very thoughtful when it comes to these things.”

Grant added, “I remember that from my time working with him. It’s possible that he could have given a piece of jewellery that belonged to the late queen. Maybe a hand-me-down item like a pair of earrings.”
