David Foster directly addresses Meghan awkward moment in new statement

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s friend, David Foster, doubled down on his support for the couple as speculation and criticism continued over a misinterpreted viral video clip from a recent event.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had attended a charity gala last week to support David and his wife, Katherine McPhee, as they marked the 40th anniversary of the foundation. 

However, a red-carpet moment caused a stir online as David was seen ignoring Meghan’s extended hand for a greeting. While sources had dismissed that there was no snub at the party, David took it upon himself to respond to the matter himself and clear the air.

“As the host of the David Foster and Friends foundation event, I had already greeted our friends, the Duke and Duchess, at the entrance 10 minutes before the red-carpet encounter,” he told People Magazine in a statement.

“They both, graciously and selflessly, gave their time and went beyond to engage with everyone. Harry and Meghan are dear friends of mine. Anyone watching can see there was no awkward moment and certainly no snub.”

He continued, “It’s sad that certain media chose to deceive a red-carpet encounter for clickbait. They turned simple ‘positioning’ to get the best photo into a hurtful lie.”

Meanwhile, Meghan and Harry have maintained their silence during this matter.
