Meghan Markle surprises by using royal protocol to honour beloved member

Meghan Markle appears to have decided upon the new strategy she will adopt as Prince Harry moves forward with his plans for reconciling with his father, King Charles.

Only weeks after Meghan and the children finally met with the monarch, the Duchess of Sussex has taken a more confident approach in her matters, especially amid the criticism and setbacks.

In what is being dubbed a “calculated move”, Meghan has taken a page out of Princess Kate’s diary in her latest glitzy appearance. It is become a royal protocol to wear an appropriate tribute during key events.

Harry and Meghan had recently attended David Foster’s charity gala in Canada and there was one fashion choice by Meghan that stood out. Dressed in a Greta Constantine asymmetrical neckline black dress, the As Ever founder chose Princess Diana’s sapphire-and-diamond butterfly earrings.

Even though this isn’t the first time Meghan had honoured her late mother-in-law with sartorial choices or accessories, the timing was critical to the matter.

According to royal expert Richard Kay, the Duchess was “trying to stake claim on Diana’s legacy” by channelling her mother-in-law.

This was also considered to be deliberate as Prince Harry’s wife chose a very specific piece of Diana, which she had worn to Canada.

“It would have taken an enormous amount of research to find out precisely what Diana wore on a visit to an obscure part of Canada,” he explained. “No offence, but it was a remote part of Canada back in 1986.”

This is nothing unusual for the Palace aides, who have everything figured out about important accessories belonging to key members. Hence, it seems that Meghan has her team ready with the research as well.
